Sorry Spin Review

For the lovers of the classic board game, Sorry, here is a new way to play with Sorry Spin.  Since 1934, families have been playing the game of Sorry and having hours of fun together using luck, strategy and determination to win.  Sorry even has another name by which it is well know, the game of "sweet revenge".  Now Hasbro have released a new version that puts a real twist, or should I say "spin", on the game we have come to know and love.

Sorry Spin has been developed by Hasbro, one of the leaders in great family board games.  They just keep coming up with fun and entertaining games that all families can enjoy, and Sorry Spin is no exception.

As with the original Sorry game, the aim is to get your pieces back to their same colored home, but at any time you could get sent back to your starting position.  The difference with Sorry Spin is that if a Spin card is drawn, the playing board can be physically spun and you may end up closer to your finishing point, or further away.

There is some assembly required before play starts, but this is relatively easy and no tools are required.  To begin with, if the kids are playing on their own, they might need an adult to guide them through the setup.  Generally though, once they have seen it done a few times, they will pick it up and be able to do it themselves quite easily.

Fans of the original Sorry game are really enjoying this version.  It is proving to be a more complex and thought provoking version as strategies can very quickly be thrown out the window when a spin occurs at any point and ruins your plans.  Overall it is proving to be a much faster, quicker thinking game that the original Sorry game.

One thing you will need to play this game though is a flat surface.  Because of the turning that is required to play the game, a good flat playing area is needed to get the best out of this game.  Also a surface that is not slippery should also be used.  If your table or floor is a bit slippery, then a placemat placed under the game board is a simple fix to ensure optimal spinning.

Sorry Spin is another great family game that is going to be popular this season.  It is a real hit with families who have children of all ages.  Six year olds are even able to grasp the playing concepts.  If you like the original Sorry game, and want to bring that game up to another playing level, then Sorry Spin is a great choice for your family.
